Is it a bad way to learn by just watching instructional videos on youtube and figuring it out from there. I’d like to have a comprehensive knowledge of the piano eventually and I’m worried that I’ll have to “unlearn” everything at a later time if I continue to learn and play like this. It results in me being able to play individual songs but having no clue about the musical theory behind them.

I’d like to learn how to play both. Is one or the other better to learn first? Or doesn’t it make a difference?

I can’t read music (I know, sad) so I usually just learn a song by ear, but I’m trying to learn a song now and I just can’t get it quite right.
Any way to download something online where I can learn a song without having to learn how to read music? (I doubt it, but I’m just throwing it out there)

i would really like to learn to play by ear. I’ve been playing piano for almost 8 years, but I always have sightread. Is there a certain technique on how I can play piano by ear? Thanks.

I really want to learn how to play the piano or guitar (electric or acoustic). Which is easier? I know how to play some stuff on piano but haven’t had any professional training on either instruments.
